There will be 4 draft sessions split up this Friday, Saturday and Sunday (13-15th of July)

After the initial Launch draft, the cards that were given out through the draft will become the pool in which the players will use throughout a one month league.

Magic: The Gathering – Magic 2013

ime for a question: how many cards in the Magic 2013 are reprints? If you said half, then you are dead on the target.

Magic 2013 is this year’s Core Set and along with it are some pretty wicked reprints from bygone eras. Case in point, the mechanic ‘exalted’.

Exalted means that if you attack with only one creature, that creature gets a power/toughness bonus. That is all.

If you have three Aven Squires on the battlefield and you attack with only one, that single Squire will gain +3 power and +3 toughness, since there are three exalted abilities backing it up, including its own exalted ability.

This is a series of vignettes centred around a fictional Tavern in the Magic Multiverse.

 

THE printing mill was in full swing, operating like it had never operated before. Stacks and stacks of papers were being inked and stamped and cut and arranged accordingly so that they formed the periodical that was soon going to be shipped out to all exclusive members of The Planeswalking Tavern.

And overseeing the entire process were two men. Jéne E. Ilk you probably knew already. The other was a familiar face throughout The Planeswalking Tavern’s lifetime, but whose name has not yet been made regular in this series.

“I’m super excited,” Jéne E. said to his colleague, albeit in a manner that didn’t reveal the gravity of his words. “I just want to say, working with you has its ups and downs, but mostly ups.”

Magic: The Gathering – Dark Ascension

 think, if I’m not mistaken, the pre-release of the newest Magic set happened this past weekend.

You know what? Yes, it did. And it was a dark, dark day to be human.

As usual, when the Monday after the pre-release comes around, so too does this tutorial article. Today I’ll be discussing the new mechanics introduced in Dark Ascension. If you want to know more about the returning mechanics from Innistrad instead, you may read this article here.

WITHOUT a doubt, Zarin the Entertainer knew how to make an entrance. With his steed flying perfectly amongst the clouds against the bright blue midday sky, he turned the beast down towards The Planeswalking Tavern, plummeting himself and his ride in the direction of the building before guiding the flying animal away and to a side, and amidst the heavy breathing of the creature he could hear the gasps and expressions of wonder and terror from The Tavern’s patrons.

Dark Ascension

The Rafters of neighboring buildings scream vividly as the winds pick up and strain them against their struts.
