Due to requests made by players wanting to donate to Japan but missed out on last week's donation drive, The drive has been extended to this week. So this week's Five Rings tournament will still be donated to Japan.

Donation to Japan Relief Fund
Winter has hit the Empire of Rokugan hard, and to make matters worse Earthquakes and Tsunamis are hitting Japan too. Is the Path of the Destroyer leading it towards Earth? We do not know.
However, the Divine Empress has requested that we offer help and kindly services to the nation which had inspired the Rokugani Existence in its time of peril.
Therefore humbled by her Empress's requests, we at the Tavern have decided to host a tournament and offer all profits from that tournament to Charitable organizations that are channeling help into Japan. Up to now we are trying to discuss with the Red Crescent society of Malaysia, but we are open to any society that is legitimately offering help.
Our problem? Not enough visible support.
Therefore, we would like to invite all players to participate in the event that would be hosted this saturday 26/3/2011

Grand Prix Trials Singapore 2011 !!
Its that time again,

Ancestral Shrine
Shrine to the Ancestors

The peddler woke up with a start, looking around he noticed that his dream became infused with bits of reality. Voices started wafting in slowly around him, starting as muffled voices, slowly becoming mumbles and gradually clarifying into words and ideas.
"Hail Peddler, heed our summons.."
"Errr, yes and who are you? It sounds like there's a lot of you around me. Where's this place? It doesn't feel like the Tavern anymore."
"We are the spirits of the ancestors... You ask a lot of questions don't you Peddler, hmmm?"
"Oh quit scaring him Akodo, we are here to pass you a message Peddler. With our blessings of course."
"Don't you just favor him because he's Isawa too? We need you to do something, it is of utmost importance to us that we do not be forgotten by the coming generations.."
"Yes, just like Bayushi said, we do not wish to be forgotten. Thus, it is to you that the duty of keeping the roster of families shall be passed on."
"How poetic, just like a typical Doji... What he means is that he wants you to keep a record of our names. Please do not forget that our Utaku family name came from the Otaku family but are different."
"Remember how we Kuni fought hard defending the Kaiu wall, even after it being overrun by those vermin from the south."
"The Celestials are passing, and the memory of war might be forgotten with it. Keep it with you child and let it guide you forward."
"You must have really hit something hard Akodo, where's the Fire in you? It sounds uncharacteristic of you to be so melancholic."
"Leave him be Yoritomo, Satsu might still be around so you may have his guidance, Peddler."
"WOW!! Enough talking to my head guys, that's alot of you and only 1 of me. All you want is a memorial right? I'll see to it..."
"We rest our names with you mortal..."
The room clears a little bit, and the Peddler notices a distorted face in the wall, he groans "Oh man, Daigotsu too??"
"No, I'm Fu Leng. See that you do not leave me out, or you shall suffer..."
The air clears and the Peddler sighs, he walks over to a table and writes down a poem.
Well the Ancestral Histories have been compiled and now rests in the Tavern, thus the Tavern officially invites anyone who wold like to donate to the Ancestral Histories and also would like to pay their respects to the Ancestors to step forward.
Also, This weekend(13/3/2011) there will be the weekly Skirmish with Blue Tanuki Bar as the Promo again :)

Mirrodin Besieged Game Day
The Tavern Extends an invitation to all Planeswalkers to their Game Day Celebration, where we make a stopover in the plane of Mirrodin to visit one of the most Contested Warzones that has recently begun to see signs of battle fatigue.
This Game Day will also Be the start of the Mirran vs Phyrexian Standard League for the Tavern's Bragging rights and extra Prizes for the Leaguers.

It has never been easy when you're and ancient Dragon don't you think? These mere mortals keep bugging you no end with their Dragonslaying and other fanciful whims, I'm rather envious of the dragons who live in the modern times. They are almost always left alone to their own devices, save our Cousin Lochness of course I wonder how she's coping with the stress always being on the news.
Well that's enough of idle chatter for now eh? Let's get to discuss the more serious matters that affect our Council of Elder Dragons.
The younger generations of Council members have yet to prove their strength, therefore the Seniors have recommended that we put down the gauntlet and see how they fare.
The entire Senior Council has agreed, and is awaiting your vote on this matter. We would like this to proceed on the 5th of March 2011 at the crack of midnight, while all the human eyes are averted.
The Council will expect your reply by the 3rd of March 2011.
